Amistad National Recreation Area

This 67,000 area and reservoir is northwest of Del Rio via US 90. Amistad is a outgrowth of the Amistad Dam water storage project, a joint venture of the United States and Mexico. The boundaries of the area extend 74 miles up the Rio Grande and portions of the Pecos and Devils rivers. More than six miles long, the dam creates 85-mile long Lake Amistad.
