Lying 100 miles south of
Amarillo in Briscoe County, the park consists of more than 15,000 acres and was opened in 1982. The Trailway is a 64-mile Rail-to-Trail conversion, acquired by donation in 1992. This multi-use trail (hike, bike and equestrian) passes through three counties, crosses 46 bridges, and runs through Clarity Tunnel, one of the last active railroad tunnels in Texas.
