Franklin is the seat of
Robertson County and lies northeast of
Austin and north of
Bryan on US 79 and the Missouri Pacific Railroad Line.
In 1989 it had a population estimated at 1,462 and twenty businesses. In 1990 its population was reported as 1,336.
