Situated in a lovely wooded area within walking distance of downtown historic Jefferson, Winborn Haven was built by Joseph H. Updergraph between April 1854 and November 1858, making the original home approximately 140 years old. As was common in the mid 1800's, the home consisted of two rooms and a dogtrot and was architecturally described as a "Texas Prairie" house. Throughout the ensuing years, various owners added three more rooms and a screened in porch. In January, 2001, Bill and Dona Reed purchased Winborn Haven.
