Lake Conroe

20,985-acre impoundment on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River, partly edged by Sam Houston National Forest. Lakeside are several marinas with boat ramps and rentals (including sailboats) and campgrounds. Fish include several species of bass; channel, blue and flathead catfish; and smallmouth buffalo. Dam and observation point off TX 105.
