The building was a market place and then a firehall. Today the building is the County Market House and Museum. Quaint structure with cupola on courthouse square with local historical artifacts and information on all regional historical sites.

The Market House Museum is entered in the National Register of Historic Places, Texas State Historical Survey Medallion, and Archaeological Landmark.
