Located at the end of an access road off US 62/180, is a mixture of desert, canyon woodland and highland forest. In late October the reds, yellows and oranges of the leaves resemble northern woods. Near the mouth of the canyon grow prickly pear and agaves; farther along big-tooth maples, ferns and wildflowers emerge beside a spring-fed stream. At the far end of the canyon, access is limited to daylight hours. Visitors must stay on the designated trail. Brochures are available at the visitor centers.
