AKA Dolores Mission, established in 1716, abandoned because of French invasion in 1719, and restored in 1821 to become HQs for Zacatecan missions in East Texas. Abandoned 1773 when Spanish evacuated. Today a city park marks the site complete with RV campsites, tent camping, group shelters, and walking trails. Also a visitor center, archaelogical lab, and research archives. S of the courthouse.
