Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture |
Located in the 1858 Breustedt house, exhibits a large collection of furniture handmade by German immigrants during the 1800s. Among the items displayed are wardrobes, tables and sofas. In addition, collections of pewter, English ironstone and steins also are featured. Simpler furniture and cabinetmaker's tools used by early settlers are displayed in a log cabin on the grounds.
Feb. 1 through Nov. 30 hours are 1:00PM to 4:00PM. Closed December through January and Major Holidays. Last tour begins at 3:30PM. Tour groups, anytime, by appointment.
