Located northwest off the I-610 Clinton road.; a security guard will direct visitors to gate 8. The basin heads the 50-mile Houston Ship Channel. There are views of the docks and busy basin from an observation platform atop Wharf 9. Ninety-minute boat tours of the Port of Houston are given. Reservations are always recommended and are required at least 2 months in advance during the summer.
