Opened in 1906 as the Point Isabel Tarpon & Fishing Club and the first and only hotel for twenty years, was the site for many significant events in local history, such as President Harding's vacation in 1920. Also the birthplace of the Rio Grande Fishing Rodeo started in 1934 by the hotel's manager. This became the Texas International Fishing Tournaments headquarters. Huricanes in 1933 and 1967 changed the hotel's exterior, and floors, names and other changes have been a part of this hotel's colorful history for almost a century.
All rooms are ideal for couples but enough room for small families. Our fully furnished kitchens include microwave ovens, coffee makers, toasters and complimentary coffee, tea and other beverages.Rooms also include hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, and ice chests for use by the pool or beach. There is a pool, shuffleboad, barbeque facilities and cabana area. Also have a small private beach, boat ramp and dock for small boats.
