The Red River Historical Museum has changing exhibits which reflect the rich heritage of North Texas & Southern Oklahoma. We have several permanent exhibits including the "Map Corner" which features
historic maps of the area; "The Courthouse Riot of 1930" when the 1876 Grayson County Courthouse was burned; "The Farm & Ranch Room & The General Store" which displays a farm kitchen & corral and a typical general store, both c. 1910. Current exhibits which will change this Fall are: "Red River Band of Brothers" a military exhibit; "Traveling Trunks" featuring memorabilia from a 1900 Grand Tour of Europe by a local family; "AfroTexans" an exhibit of photographs, furniture and history of area Black Texans;
"Digging For Treasures" an exhibit of photographs & objects recovered from an 1989 archeological dig by the University of North Texans in Denton County when they uncovered over 10,000 Clovis Man pieces. Tuesday - Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and closed Sunday and Monday.
