Stowers Ranch

Search Hunt Texas

Stowers Ranch provides outstanding hunting opportunities for whitetail and exotic bucks and wild turkey gobblers. This 11,200-acre ranch is located at the headwater of the north fork of the Guadalupe River, adjacent to the Kerr Wildlife Management Area on the north side. Founded by GA Stowers in 1904 as a cattle ranch, game management area and hunting preserve; a deer-proof perimeter fence has been in place for over 90 years and several exotic species were introduced 25 years ago; the ranch now has freely-roaming herds of axis deer, fallow deer, sika deer, aoudad, red sheep, and black buck antelope. The ranch is interspersed with a number of draws with tall trees and running water, with a heavy concentration of wild turkeys roosting there during the hunting season.
