Founded in 1873, Texas Christian University is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). A substantial majority of students are from Texas, but many other states and countries are represented.
Sororities and fraternities are quite active on campus. There is a considerable amount of on-campus housing, but about half of students commute. Popular majors include nursing, finance and psychology. The 237-acre campus is located 3 miles southwest of downtown Fort Worth.
