Varner-Hogg Plantation

State Historical Park

Located 1 mile northeast off SR 35, covers 66 acres. The Plantation House Museum, the two-story, 1836 home of Gov. James S. Hogg, was originally built of homemade brick and later remodeled in the Greek Revival style. Furnishings are from the 1835-50 period. Picnic facilities are available. Tours are given.
