West Texas Czech Heritage Capital of Texas

West is located just north of Waco toward Hillsboro along I-35 in McLennan County.

Many of the descendants of the original Czech settlers continue to farm the lands and run the businesses today. You can still hear Czech spoken by some of the older folks around town. Each Labor Day weekend the West locals put together a Czech/Polka festival they call Westfest.

West is part of the Waco, Texas metro area.

Comments: In the afternoon traffic is hectic. My wife and I visited here not long ago. There seem to be changes in the weather in the PM. Home prices have risen since just a little while ago. This spot has ALOT of outgoing folks in stores. For some fine exhibits, make a point of visiting Katy Depot. This is a great place.
