Czech Heritage Capital of Texas |
West is located just north of Waco toward Hillsboro along I-35 in McLennan County.Many of the descendants of the original Czech settlers continue to farm the lands and run the businesses today. You can still hear Czech spoken by some of the older folks around town. Each Labor Day weekend the West locals put together a Czech/Polka festival they call Westfest. West is part of the Waco, Texas metro area.
