Located 8.5 miles north on Gateway North, then .5 miles w. to 4301 Woodrow Bean Transmountain Dr. (Loop 375). It was established in 1977, thanks in large part to the efforts of the El Paso Heritage Foundation; its continuing funding is provided by the city of El Paso. The museum features exhibits on the history and prehistory of the indigenous cultures of the El Paso area and frequently welcomes traveling exhibits from the greater Southwest area. The adobe museum presents dioramas and artifacts of the pre-Columbian Indians of the Southwest. Closed holidays.
