Alaska Pacific University |
The Alaska Pacific University campus in Anchorage is one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States, a serene and natural jewel set in the heart of a modern city, with the ever-changing Chugach Mountains rising up behind nearly 200 acres of lawns, woods, and University Lake. Moose are frequently seen on the campus in all seasons, as are a wide variety of other Alaska animals and birds.
APU, chartered as Alaska Methodist University by the Territory of Alaska in 1957, dedicated its campus on June 28, 1959, one day prior to Alaska achieving statehood. When the first students enrolled in classes beginning October 1, 1960, campus facilities consisted of Grant Hall, the academic and student center; and Gould Hall, the student residence.
Located in Anchorage Borough, total enrollment is approximately 500 and their programs lead to Associates, Bachelors and Masters Degrees.
Student housing is available.
