Baranof Island

Named after the head of the Russian-American Company, Alexander Baranof, Baranof Island, in Southeast Alaska, is very scenic and mountainous, laced with many bays and fjords.

The island is bordered on the west by the Gulf of Alska, and on the east by the Chatham Straits. It is part of the famous inland passage, referred to as the Alaskan Panhandle.

Baranof Island is home to many brown bears, mountain goats, and Sitka blacktail deer.
