The Colville River is the largest river on the north slope of the Brooks Range. The river includes a wide array of tributaries.
The Colville River is most notable for its incredible concentration of nesting raptors, including arctic peregrine falcons, golden eagles, and rough-legged hawks. The river also provides an important year-round habitat for brown bears, wolves, and moose, as well as a significant number of dinosaur fossils.
