University of Alaska Museum

Explore Northern treasures and see award-winning exhibits on Alaska's natural and cultural history. The museum includes displays of Alaska's Native culture, art, natural phenomena, wildlife, geology and prehistoric past.

Highlights include the largest gold exhibit in the state, a 36,000-year-old steppe bison mummy, Native Alaskan art, woolly mammoths, bears and wolves, a northern lights display and the Trans-Alaska pipeline story.

The museum grounds contain totem poles, sculptures and a Russian blockhouse. Free summer programs cover natural and cultural history. Open daily, all year. This facility is located on the University Of Alaska Fairbanks campus.
