USFS Juneau Campgrounds

There are two USFS campgrounds north of Juneau via the Glacier Hwy.

Turn at Mile 9.4 for the Mendenhall Lake Campground. It has 68 sites, 25 of which can accommodate big rigs. There is water, vault toilets and a dump station. Plus a view of the Mendenhall Glacier.

The Auke Village Campground is 1.5 miles west of the Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal and has 12 campsites. This campground was once a village site for the Auk Tlingit Natives. Call for information.

Both campgrounds are first come, first served.
