University Of Alaska Southeast

The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is a growing regional university with the main campus located in Juneau with extended campuses in Sitka and Ketchikan and is a major academic unit of the University of Alaska statewide system. UAS is accredited as an institution of higher learning by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.

The Juneau campus' natural setting along the shores of the Inside Passage lends itself to the study of marine biology and environmental science. Other degree programs in public administration and business administration take advantage of being located in the state capital. The campus helps many students take part in national and international student exchanges.

The Sitka campus offers a variety of spring and fall Elderhostel programs.
