Mt. Fairweather

Despite its name, Mt. Fairweather, in southeast Alaska, has some of the worst weather on the planet, including over 100 inches of precipitation annually.

Mt Fairweather rises 15,320 feet in the Fairweather Range, a glacier covered range of rugged mountains, which is actually the southern continuation of the St. Elias Mountain Range.

Mt. Fairweather is just fourteen miles from the Pacific Ocean, and is the highest and northernmost summit in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.

Although the majority of the mass of the peak resides in Alaska, the summit itself belongs to Canada.
