Colony Inn

Colony Inn is located in the historic Matanuska Colony Teacher's Dorm.

The Matanuska Colony was an emergency project during President Roosevelt's New Deal. Hundreds of people, primarily Scandinavians from the upper midwest, were resettled here to develop the agricultural potential of the Matanuska Valley.

Many descendants of the settlers are still in the area and farms and homesteads are operating today. The University Of Alaska Fairbanks operates agricultral research in the area.
