Talkeetna Mountain Range

This fossil-bearing range is located northeast of Anchorage. The Talkeetna mountains are highly scenic, but still a relatively gentle mountain range.

The range is popular for cross-country hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling and includes a variety of wildlife including caribou, grizzly bears, wolverines, moose, mountain goats, and more.
