Whittier Alaska |
Whittier is located at the head of Passage Canal on Prince William Sound, 75 miles southeast of Anchorage. It is connected to the Seward Hwy by Alaska Railroad and to other Prince William Sound communities by Alaska Marine Highway and charter planes.
Whittier was created by the US Army during WWII as a port, but it is now a fishing and tourism center. For information, contact the Greater Whittier Chamber of Commerce.
