American Fork is located in
Utah County between
Salt Lake City and
Provo on Hwy 73 just off US 15, near Utah Lake. Just north of the
Provo-Orem, Utah metro area, American Fork was settled by Mormon pioneers in the summer of 1850.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 19,215, an increase of 3,493 since 1990.
