Originally called "Kamas Prairie" by trappers, Kamas is located in Summit County east of Salt Lake City along Hwy 32 and 248 near Jordanelle Reservoir.
The current estimated population is 1,450. Annually, during the week of July 24th, the community celebrates the arrival of Mormon pioneers to the state in 1847.
