Layton is located in
Davis County, between
Salt Lake City and
Ogden along Hwy 126. Today, Layton is a rapidly growing community of over 60,000 citizens. Recently, it became the most heavily populated city in Davis County. Hill Air Force Base is the major employer in the city and has played a major role in the citys growth.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 55,112, an increase of 13,328 since 1990.
