Rich County Bookmobile Library, serving an area of 1,980 residents, has a collection of 19,800 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 420 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 66 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.

Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $5,400. Patrons make 6,600 visits annually, and check out materials 12,600 times. Sixty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

Malad Valley Welsh Festival Malad City ID June28-July1 Today, Malad Valley has the largest per capita concentration of people of Welsh ancestry outside the country of Wales itself. For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality.
