The Salt Palace hosts primarily national and international conventions, trade shows and meetings. The facility boasts 365,000 square feet of continuous exhibit space, with flexible walls allowing for 1 to 8 halls. A 45,000 square foot ballroom features roughly enough space to hold a banquet for 2,900 and the flexibility to break down into 10 sections, each capable of holding over 400 people theater style. There are 52,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, for a total of 53 possible meeting rooms including Ballroom space. The curved metal trusses holding up the ceiling were built by the world's foremost designer of roller coasters.

Malad Valley Welsh Festival Malad City ID June28-July1 Today, Malad Valley has the largest per capita concentration of people of Welsh ancestry outside the country of Wales itself. For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality.
