Collingwood Library & Museum Americanism

The oldest part of the house, Collingwood on the Potomac, dates from 1783 when it was the overseer's residence on George Washington's River Farm. Books in the library, devoted exclusively to American history, can be used on the premises.

The museum has a collection of presidential china, American Indian artifacts, displays about American Revolutionary War heroes, a Bowie knife and replicas of the Magna Carta and the lantern that signaled to Paul Revere from the belfry of Boston's Old North Church.
