Dayton is located in
Rockingham County 6 miles SE of Harrisonburg along Highway 42 just off I81 near
Endless Caverns and Shenandoah State Park in the
Central Region of the state. The Daniel Harrison House is rich in history and is also known as Fort Harrison due to its fortifications.
