The Essex County Museum is a non-profit organization that began in late 1995 and lets visitors take a peek into the history of the area of Essex County and Tappahannock. From John Smith landing in 1608 to Civil War battles in the 1860's to the birth of the modern town, the Essex County Museum has it all. The Museum is proud to provide a series of Workshops during the year that feature local experts and artists.
