This 1755 brick Georgian residence was built by George Mason, the author of the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776 and one of the framers of the U.S. Constitution. A masterpiece of designer William Buckland, the house features wood carvings in a variety of styles. The English and American furnishings, some belonging to the Mason family, are from the 18th century and earlier.
