Virginia University of Lynchburg was founded in May 1886. It is the oldest school of higher learning in Lynchburg, VA. The mission of the school is to provide a solid liberal arts and Christian education for all students. The university continues to embrace its African American heritage along with appreciation for other cultures and ethnic groups in the global community.
