Irvington is located in Lancaster County 40 miles NE of Williamsburg between Kilmarnock and White Stone along Highway 3 on the banks of the Rappahannock River in the Eastern Region of the state. At the end of the Northern Neck peninsula between the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers, Irvington long has been associated with Tides Inn, a golf and water sports resort that has been open since 1947. Cruises of the Rappahannock and the coves of Carter's Creek are available.
