Contains a mixed collection of items including Civil War artifacts, arrowheads, pocketknives, medical and dental equipment and farm machinery. Two restored log cabins and a smithy are on the grounds. Jeff Mathews, one of Galax's first settlers, established the museum with a friend; the two combined their collectons of American Indian artifacts and other memorabilia. Open Wednesday-Friday 1-5pm, Saturday 11-4pm, Sunday 1-4 pm; closed major holidays.
