Manassas is located in Prince William County 30 miles west of Alexandria between Centreville and Dale City along Highway 234 in the Eastern Region of the state. In this juncture of the Manassas Gap and the Orange & Alexandria Railroad occurred one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War. Manassas is part of the Washington metro area.
