Middleburg is located in Loudoun County in the Eastern Region of the state. Middleburg is located between Arlington and Winchester on Hwy 50; Upperville is nearby. Middleburg is part of the Washington metro area. Foxhunting began in Middleburg around 1748, when Thomas the sixth Lord Fairfax set up the first hunt. Well-known residents have included Linda Tripp, ex-friend of ex-White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
