Old Dominion University occupies a 187-acre campus and provides instruction to a total enrollment of around 18,000 students. It was founded in 1930 and is publicly supported. The vast majority of undergraduates come from Virginia. Seventeen national fraternities and ten national sororities have chapters at the university. Many students pursue majors in nursing and psychology.
