Skyline Caverns is the closest natural wonder to the Nation's Capital — hosting nearly 100,000 visitors a year. The caverns contain calcite formations known as anthodites or cave flowers. These are found in very few caves worldwide. Indirect illumination is provided. There is a .5-mile tour of the grounds aboard a miniature train daily when weather is permitting. Guided tours are offered every few minutes daily.
