The Virginia Aviation Museum is a division of the Science Museum of Virginia. This shrine to the "Golden Age of Aviation" enhances the Science Museum's aerospace exhibits with its extensive collection of vintage flying machines. You'll see Captain Dick Merrill's 1930s open cockpit mail plane; a special exhibit on Virginia's legendary Admiral Richard E. Byrd and his Stars and Stripes; the first American scientific research aircraft to fly in Antarctica; and a classic 1929 Ford Tri-motor.
