This visitor center, as well as another located at Chancellorsville, contains slide shows and displays relating to the battles fought here. Self-guided walking and driving tours begin at the centers. Tape-recorded, self-guided driving tours are also available for rent and include a map. Special tours of the Sunken Road on the
Fredericksburg Battlefield are conducted during the summer. Open daily 8:30am-6:30pm, mid-June through Labor Day; Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday & Sunday 9am-6pm, April 1 to mid-June and the day after Labor Day through October 31; daily 9am-5pm, the rest of the year. Free.
