Virginia State University is an historically black public land-grant institution of higher education providing academic programs that integrate instruction, research, and extension/public service. There are 4 undergraduate schools and 1 graduate school. The 652 acre campus is in a suburban area 25 miles south of
Richmond. Including residence halls, there are 52 buildings.
Active fraternities, sororities and over 40 clubs and organizations are on campus. Tours of the campus are available through the admissions office.
