Woodstock is located in Shenandoah County, of which it is the county seat, 35 miles SW of Winchester between Edinburg and Maurertown along Highway 11 off I81 on the banks of the Shenandoah River near Bryce Mountain Ski Resort in the Central Region of the state. A nice recreation area based on the Shenandoah River.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 3,767, an increase of 585 since 1990.
