Comments: The one and only thing going for this facility is location. Sitting atop Afton Mountain, it affords a spectular panoramic view overlooking the entranceway to Skyline Drive at milepost 0 of Blue Ridge Parkway, I-64 at U.S. Route 250, the gateway into Shenandoah Valley and and Rockfish Valley and Albemarle County. The restaurant and bar are now closed and rooms are deplorable. The surrounding abandoned and deteriorating buildings give testament to the owner's complete lack of business savvy and unwillingness to work with the area chamber of commerce and city of Waynesboro to come up with a viable solution to showcase this most important area that could generate millions of tourist dollars. Rooms are in shambles, filthy including dead flies, stains, broken furniture, smoke-filled lobby from few remaining staff, even with "No Smoking" sign posted on front entryway. Any positive feedback should be considered suspect.
