The Buccaneer is located on an old 300-acre sugar plantation on St. Croix and has it all from palm-fringed sandy beaches, swimming pools, golf, all water sports, tennis, a nature and jogging trail, shopping arcade, health spa, and four restaurants. The ambience is Mediterranean rather than tropical, with marble or colorful tile floors, four-poster beds and massive wardrobes of pale wood, pastel fabrics and locally produced artwork. All 150 rooms have such modern conveniences as hair dryers, refrigerators, and cable TV. Spacious bathrooms have marble bench showers and double sinks.
