The Waves at Cane Bay is a 12-room inn perched right on
the water's edge on St. Croix. It caters to divers who take advantage
of the world-famous Cane Bay Wall just 100 yards offshore.
The hotel pool was carved from the coral located along the
shore. The floor and one wall are concrete, but the seaside
wall is made of natural coral and the pool water is circulated
as the waves crash dramatically over the side, creating
a foamy whirlpool on blustery days. The two peach and mini-green
buildings house enormous, balconied guest rooms done in cream
and soft pastel prints, all with kitchens or kitchenettes.
